Mortar Raking Blades for Angle Grinders

8 products

Diamond raking blades are the fastest way to cut old mortar out of straight bed joints. Fitted to a 115mm or 125mm angle grinder they out-pace a rake bit several times over on long horizontal runs, and the 6, 8 and 10mm widths let you match the blade to the joint.

Pair a raking blade with a mortar rake bit for perp ends and corners, and with a dust extraction guard to control silica dust. Every blade here is M14 / 22.23mm bore for standard angle grinders.

More about this range

Diamond raking blades built for one job: cutting old mortar out of bed joints fast, from a 115 mm or 125 mm angle grinder. If you are raking long horizontal runs, a blade will out-pace a rake bit several times over.

Match the blade thickness to the joint

Blades come in 6, 8 and 10 mm thicknesses. Pick the one closest to your existing joint width - a blade narrower than the joint leaves mortar behind at the sides, and one wider than the joint will catch the brick arrises.

Where a blade is the wrong tool

A blade cuts horizontally with ease but struggles in the perp ends and around awkward detail. For vertical joints and tight corners use a mortar rake bit or raking pin instead - most repointing jobs need both.

Check which diameter your grinder takes before ordering, and fit a dust extraction guard - raking dry releases silica. See all mortar rake tools.
